Northwest Indiana’s jewel spans 23 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and is a unit of the National Park system.  Wooded hiking trails, beautiful beaches, impressive sand dunes and ranger led programs offer park visitors relaxation, inspiration, fun, adventures and meaningful experiences.

Mt. Baldy – Indiana Dunes

Located about 2 miles west of Michigan City on US Hwy 12.  The 123 foot sand dune is within the boundaries of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.  Picnicking, restrooms, hiking, and vistas of Lake Michigan and it’s southern shorelines.  While enjoying the lakeshore and the dunes environment, visitors can take part in many activities, including swimming, climbing, hiking, camping, fishing, and boating, horse back riding, cross country skiing, environmental education programs and special events.

Pinhook Bog is located on Wozniak Road north of the Indiana Toll Road.  Walk on a floating mat of sphagnum moss and discover insect-eating plants.
